Creative Office Interiors:

Herman Miller
National Design Center

This unique project is a renovation of an interior space showroom of approximately 18,000 square feet within a single story LEED core/shell building in Los Angeles, just outside Culver City. This Herman Miller National Design Center Showroom features an innovative walker flush duct in-ground distribution to the varied furniture in the showroom and a full implementation of Herman Miller’s Convia Lighting control system, all in a completely exposed, open bow truss ceiling.

To further enhance the presentational aspects of a building designed to showcase Herman Miller products, custom lighting design and fixtures were a hallmark of this project. The construction process, with Howard Building at the helm, was highly collaborative: all contributors worked seamlessly to achieve the project objectives.

ARC’s state-of-the-art designs were instrumental in the project receiving an LEED CI Platinum certification, the highest possible. This TVS designed project has been highly awarded by IIDA and AIA for both its design excellence and sustainability.

With this highly successful collaboration, ARC has established yet another long-term relationship that has spawned multiple new projects – a testament to its ability to identify and solve problems and create workable solutions for clients in many different construction genres.
