ARC Engineering has an ongoing collaboration with Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and has provided extensive MEP systems for various WB projects. The World Wide Television (WWTV) project involved tenant improvement services for the 45,000 sq. ft. space they leased and then gutted in Burbank, California.
The building’s systems had been customized to fit the needs of the previous long-term tenant and the challenge lay in reworking and reusing as much as possible of the existing systems to meet the budget challenges of the highly specialized space. The majority of the first floor is technical in nature with a data center; edit bays, production space and small insert stage.
To achieve the balance of budget and programming needs, ARC increased the electrical service for the building infrastructure and reused as much of the mechanical systems as possible but added capacity and distribution as needed.
HLW was the design architect and the landlord’s contractor Krismar Construction partnered with ARC on the project, which was nominated for a 2013 Calibre Award. The project is LEED Gold certified.
